Antigravity Yoga

I have a teacher friend who's traveling to NYC this summer for a teacher training in Antigravity yoga. It was developed by a Christopher Harrison, a former gymnast and aerial acrobat. He discovered that yoga on a mat was too hard for his wrists, so he took asana to the air by dangling off the ceiling.

I am not sure about this for myself. It would appear that a fair amount of upper body strength and good shoulders are necessary, and while I can body strength, my shoulders are dicey even on good days. But it looks like fun and the hammock savasana would be heavenly.

It's not offered in our area currently, but once my friend gets her certificate, she hopes to set up somewhere in the fall and begin offering classes. I'll be sure to let you know all about it.
