Anusura

My understanding of Anusura is limited to what I learned about it during teacher's training though YogaWorks and from following Christina Sell's Facebook and blog a bit. Cat, my training instructor, commented that it was a very seductive practice and if it weren't for her total love of the Surya's, she would leap into John Friend's camp in an instant.

By all appearances, it is a very strong practice. Long holds. Lots of arm balances and inversions. There is a workshop in the town over sometimes this spring and it's tempting to sign up and take a peek, but my shoulder and the cartilage inflammation have chosen the round about and tediously slow route to healing. I don't want to attend a workshop and just sit and watch, nor do I think it "manning up" for a weekend of strenuous yoga would be beneficial for me.

I would like to add arm balances to my repertoire at some point and strength is never a bad thing to cultivate.
